Hotel Shuttles at Frankfurt Airport: Who Runs One and Who Does Not

Frankfurt is unusual among big airports in how few of its hotels run a bus, and the reason is simple: four hotels are joined to Terminal 1 by walkway, nine more are one S-Bahn stop away, and the airport’s own transport does the rest. Only three hotels on this site run a shuttle in 2026, two of them free. What follows is who runs what, checked against Fraport’s hotel-shuttle timetable and each hotel’s own site in September 2026.

The stop

Every hotel bus at Terminal 1 uses the same stop: the arrivals level, outside between exits B5 and B6, signed Hotel Shuttle. From the baggage halls, walk to the B exits and cross to the bus lane. Fraport’s timetable board at the stop lists each hotel’s hours and frequency. Terminal 3 has no hotel-shuttle stop in the same sense; the IntercityHotel’s bus serves the Terminal 3 forecourt, and every other hotel expects a Terminal 3 passenger to ride the SkyLine to Terminal 1 (8 to 10 minutes, or 20 by replacement bus) before looking for a shuttle.

Free shuttles

The Steigenberger Airport Hotel Frankfurt runs the best service at the airport: an express bus every 20 minutes at :00, :20 and :40 from the hotel, 24 hours a day, free for guests, taking about five minutes each way. Fraport lists its departures from the airport from 00:05 to 23:45. It is the only hotel bus that meets a late arrival or a 5:00 am departure without a phone call.

The NH Frankfurt Airport in Kelsterbach runs a free bus every 30 minutes from 5:15 am to 10:45 pm according to Fraport’s timetable, about five minutes each way; outside those hours a taxi to the hotel costs a few euros more than the bus saves. Confirm the timetable with reception when you book, because the hotel’s own site does not print the hours.

Paid shuttle

The IntercityHotel Frankfurt Airport Terminal 3 in Cargo City Süd runs a shuttle every 30 minutes from 5:00 am to 11:30 pm to both Terminal 3 and Terminal 1, charged per adult with children up to 12 free; buy the ticket at reception. Fraport’s timetable shows the Terminal 1 departures from 5:15 am to 10:45 pm. It is the only hotel bus serving Terminal 3, which makes it worth the fare for a Terminal 3 flight.

Hotels you walk to

The Sheraton Frankfurt Airport, Frankfurt Airport Marriott Hotel, Hilton Frankfurt Airport and Hilton Garden Inn Frankfurt Airport are five to ten minutes from Terminal 1 by covered walkway and none runs a bus. The MY CLOUD Transit Hotel is inside Terminal 1.

Hotels on the S-Bahn

None of the nine Gateway Gardens hotels runs a shuttle in 2026. The Park Inn by Radisson Frankfurt Airport, which once advertised a bus every 30 minutes, now lists the S-Bahn and buses X17 and X77; the Holiday Inn Frankfurt Airport is listed by IHG as having no airport shuttle. The S8 and S9 from the regional station under Terminal 1 reach Gateway Gardens in two minutes, every 15 minutes on each line, and bus X17 from Terminal 1 and bus X77 from Terminal 3 stop at Gateway Gardens Mitte, 50 m from the Park Inn. A taxi from Terminal 1 to any Gateway Gardens hotel takes about five minutes. Our Gateway Gardens guide has the walking times from the station to each hotel.

Other hotels with shuttles

Fraport’s timetable also lists buses from hotels not covered on this site, in Kelsterbach, Mörfelden, Langen, Raunheim and the Frankfurt Süd business park; all use the same Terminal 1 stop and most run in daytime windows only. If you book one of them, check the last departure before you commit to a late arrival.

Tips

Photograph the timetable board at the stop when you land, so you know the next departure without hunting for Wi-Fi. If a shuttle is more than 15 minutes away and you are three or four people, a taxi to a Gateway Gardens or Kelsterbach hotel costs about the same per head as the wait costs in patience. And for a Terminal 3 flight, either book the IntercityHotel or plan for the X77 bus from Gateway Gardens, because no free shuttle goes there.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is the hotel-shuttle stop at Frankfurt Airport?

On the arrivals level of Terminal 1, outside between exits B5 and B6, signed Hotel Shuttle. Fraport lists every hotel bus that uses it with its hours. Terminal 3 has no equivalent stop; the IntercityHotel shuttle is the only hotel bus serving Terminal 3, and other hotel buses expect Terminal 3 passengers to ride the SkyLine to Terminal 1 first.

Which Frankfurt Airport hotels have a free shuttle?

Two on this site: the Steigenberger Airport Hotel Frankfurt (24 hours, every 20 minutes) and the NH Frankfurt Airport in Kelsterbach (every 30 minutes, 5:15 am to 10:45 pm on Fraport's timetable). The IntercityHotel Frankfurt Airport Terminal 3 runs a shuttle for a fee. No Gateway Gardens hotel runs one any more.

Do the Park Inn and Holiday Inn still run shuttles?

No. Both advertised buses in earlier years; in 2026 the Park Inn's own directions list only the S-Bahn and buses X17 and X77, and IHG lists the Holiday Inn's airport shuttle as not available. Neither appears on Fraport's hotel-shuttle timetable.
