MY CLOUD Transit Hotel

MY CLOUD Transit Hotel is the one hotel you can reach without leaving the airport: 59 rooms of about 10 sq.m. inside the non-Schengen transit area of Terminal 1, near Gate Z25, sold in blocks of three to 24 hours. It exists for one kind of traveller: someone changing planes at Frankfurt between two non-Schengen flights, with hours to kill and no wish to clear German immigration for a bed on the other side. For that traveller it is unbeatable. For everyone else, including anyone arriving on a Schengen flight, it is not available.

Guest Rooms

The 59 rooms are cabins rather than hotel rooms: about 10 sq.m., a queen bed of 140 by 200 cm for one or two people, a small work surface, a private bathroom with shower, air conditioning, blackout blinds, a TV and free Wi-Fi. Rooms are quiet despite the gate area outside. There is space for a carry-on bag and not much more; the hotel is explicit that checked luggage cannot be brought in, because you are still airside.

Breakfast and Dining

There is no restaurant. Vending machines in the hotel sell snacks and drinks, and free coffee and tea are available. The Z gate area outside has cafés and restaurants with the usual airside opening hours, and the rest of Terminal 1’s non-Schengen shops and food counters are a few minutes’ walk away.

Facilities and Services

New guests can only enter between 5:00 am and 10:00 pm; if your connection lands at 11:00 pm you cannot check in, though guests already in their rooms stay through the night. Stays are booked in blocks from three hours up to 24, payment is by card only, and pets are not accepted. Bring your passport and your onward non-Schengen boarding pass, because both are checked. There are no meeting rooms, gym or parking, for obvious reasons. See our day rooms guide for how the hourly rate compares with the day-use offers on the landside.

Location and Transportation

The hotel is in the Z gate area of Terminal 1, near Gate Z25, on the non-Schengen side of passport control. Arriving from a non-Schengen flight into pier B, C, D or E, follow signs for Z gates and transfer; the walk, including the internal transfer to the Z area, takes 15 to 20 minutes. If your onward flight leaves from Terminal 3, the SkyLine has a separate airside section for transfer passengers, but you pass a security re-screen at the Terminal 3 end, so allow 30 to 40 minutes from the hotel door and confirm the transfer route with reception. Our Terminal 1 guide explains the pier layout.

For sleep without a room at all, our sleeping in the airport guide covers the napcabs sleep cabins in the A and B piers.
